In December 1997, Cascades and Domtar joined forces in the containerboard market to create Norampac Inc., a leader in the pulp and paper industry. The company is Canada's largest containerboard manufacturer and converter with almost 35% of the market share.
It is also the 9th largest manufacturer of linerboard and corrugating medium in North America.
With sales of more than $1 billion, Norampac employs more than 4,000 of the most competent and qualified people in the pulp and paper industry. Norampac operates more than 7 mills producing linerboard and corrugating medium, 19 converting centres and 4 recovery centres strategically located in Canada, the United States and France.
Its total production capacity is approximately 1.1 millon metric tons of linerboard and corrugating medium and its shipments surpass 8.7 billon square feet of corrugated products.
